Solar Rebates

Solar Rebates at Waldron Solar Solutions

Here at Waldron Solar Solutions, we believe in a greener future and strive to make solar power as accessible as possible. In line with this, we implement incredible solar rebates by the Victorian Government that aim to reduce costs and create a more viable route towards sustainable living.

Typical households can save $890 per year on their bills by using solar panels. Eligible households can claim a 50 per cent rebate on the cost of a solar PV system, up to a maximum rebate of $1,400.

Rebates are released each month according to the scheduled rebate release dates.

Solar panel rebates of up to $1,400 plus the option of an interest-free loan are available for existing homes and homes under construction.

Eligibility Criteria

If you're a Victorian householder considering solar panel installation, you may be eligible for a rebate under the Solar Homes Program. To determine your eligibility, here are the key criteria you need to meet:

Property Ownership:

You must be the owner-occupier of an existing property or the owner of a home under construction where the solar panel system is to be installed.

Income Limit:

The combined household taxable income of all owners should be less than $210,000 per year.

No Previous Rebates:

You should not have already received a solar panel (PV) rebate or a solar battery rebate as an owner-occupier under the Solar Homes Program.

Property Value:

The property you own or are constructing should be valued at under $3 million, or it should be a home under construction that will be valued at under $3 million upon completion.

No Previous Rebates at the Property:

The property address should not have previously received a solar panel (PV) rebate or a solar battery rebate under the Solar Homes Program.

Installation Date:

The property should not have had a solar panel (PV) system installed after 1 November 2009, unless you are an early adopter who installed their system prior to that date. Early adopters are eligible to replace or expand their existing systems. However, those receiving the Premium Feed-in Tariff should consider whether replacing their existing system will be more beneficial.

Meeting these criteria can make you eligible for the Victorian Solar Panel Rebate, which can provide financial support for your solar panel installation. It's important to check your eligibility carefully to take advantage of this program and make the most of renewable energy for your home.

The interest-free solar battery loan will help eligible Victorian households reduce the upfront cost of installing a battery on their home.

Eligibility Criteria

If you're a Victorian householder interested in benefiting from the Solar Homes Program's solar battery loan, it's important to understand the eligibility criteria. Meeting these criteria can help you access financial support for your solar battery installation. Here are the key requirements:

Property Ownership:

To qualify for the solar battery loan, you must be the owner-occupier of an existing property where the solar battery system is to be installed.

Income Limit:

The combined household taxable income of all property owners should be less than $210,000 per year.

Property Value:

The property's value should be under $3 million.

Previous Rebates:

The property address should not have previously received a solar battery rebate.

Solar Panel System:

Your property must have a solar panel system with an inverter capacity equal to or greater than 5kW. Alternatively, you should plan to install one concurrently with the solar battery system.

Battery Capacity:

The energy storage solution you choose should have a capacity equal to or greater than 6kWh. It should also be listed on Solar Victoria's battery product list. Additionally, your property should not have an existing energy storage system.

Pre-Approval:

You need to obtain pre-approval from your Distributed Network Service Provider (DNSP) to ensure the safe connection of the battery to the grid.

Participation in Trials:

The property owner(s) must agree to receive information from their Distribution Network Service Provider about participating in battery trials, which can help maximise the benefits for households.

It's important to note that battery storage may not be suitable for all households and situations. We recommend conducting thorough research as your initial step in the battery journey to determine if a battery is a suitable investment for your home. Also, please be aware that the solar battery rebate is not available for homes that are still under construction.

To get started, begin your research now, and when you're confident that a solar battery is the right choice for your household, reach out to an authorised retailer to explore your options and take advantage of the solar battery loan program.

The Solar for Rentals program provides qualified rental property owners with a rebate of up to $1,400 to offset the expenses associated with installing solar panels (PV) on their premises. This not only reduces the initial financial burden of going solar but also enhances the property's value and desirability.

Additionally, eligible rental property owners have the option to apply for an interest-free loan of up to $1,400, further lowering the upfront investment required for the installation of the solar panel system.
